遂に読んでしまった。キング最後の大作。何故最後かは読めば納得。今までの小説全てを通じてキングが語りたかったことを全部語っちゃったから。作家が作品を生むのではなく作品が作家を生かすのだ。作家は物語の創り手ではなく語り手にすぎない。物語の楽しみは結末ではなく過程にこそある。プロットや結末だけを楽しみたい人には期待はずれかも。でも過程を楽しむ人には…7巻ラスト1/3の描写は色褪せない楽しみとなること請け合い。
